New Mexico State University has ushered in a new era for Aggie football with the installation of a stunning 31-foot-tall by 60-foot-wide Watchfire video scoreboard. The original scoreboard structure at Aggie Memorial Stadium was retrofitted to accommodate this cutting-edge 16mm high-resolution LED display just in time for the Aggies’ first win of the 2024 season against Southeast Missouri State University.
Beyond scores and real time stats, this state-of-the-art videoboard delivers fan favorites like live game footage, instant replays, and fan prompts like “Make Some Noise!” It boasts an impressive color capacity, able to display over 1.2 quintillion colors, providing fans with a crystal-clear, cinematic experience of the on-field action.
“New Mexico State University has a storied history of excellence both on and off the field,” said Kyle Dines, Watchfire Vice President of Sports. “Watchfire is proud to be part of this legacy. After all, this football scoreboard is a bright, colorful milestone, sparking fan experiences and setting the stage for more unforgettable moments at Aggie Memorial Stadium.”
Partnering with Watchfire, YESCO engineered a custom steel frame to seamlessly fit the existing mounting brackets. They also crafted aluminum end cladding and mesh frames for both the front and back, ensuring a sleek and durable finish.
“Our team dedicated countless hours to ensure every detail of the new scoreboard installation was meticulously executed, enhancing the game-day experience for New Mexico State University fans,” said Jeff Young, executive vice president, YESCO. “We were elated to watch the cutting-edge LED display light up the field for the first home game of the season.”
