Garver Family Farm Market

Garver Family Farm has been a local landmark just north of Cincinnati since 1926, growing from a modest family farm to a full farmers’ market and event destination. In 1991, the family added a small roadside stand to sell produce. But after a major expansion in 2023, growing from 400 sq. ft. to 12,000 sq. ft., owner Alayna Taylor knew it was time to upgrade their signage.

Prior to the recent expansion, Garver Family Farm relied on a small fiberglass letterboard, which was limited in size, message length, and required someone to manually change letters along a busy stretch of State Route 63.

“We now have a full restaurant, bakery, coffee shop, winery, and host public and private events,” Taylor explained. “From the road, it’s not obvious what’s inside, so we needed something to tell our story.” The Garver team enlisted the help of Klusty Sign Associates, who walked them through the best options to support their goals, ultimately recommending a Watchfire 8mm digital sign.

“The response has been fabulous. People walk in and mention seeing something on the sign they didn’t know about,” said Taylor.

Installation took just two to three days, and features like automatic shut-off at midnight, dimming functions, and energy-efficient controls make the display a seamless fit for the farm’s environment. “Our sign is definitely far superior to others nearby. It’s eye-catching, but we can manage the brightness and hours of operation. That’s really important to us as a family-owned business. We want to be good neighbors,” Taylor noted.

The easy operation of the display has also been a game-changer for this fifth-generation family farm. With Watchfire’s Ignite OPx cloud-based software, the team can update messages in real-time, whether they are in the office, at home, or traveling out of state. Messages can be scheduled in advance or made in real-time, on-the-fly, which is proving to have a direct impact on revenue and growth.

With this newfound flexibility, the farm can easily promote wine tastings and fresh-baked goods or share community-focused messages in support of local sports teams. The display has become a vital communication tool.

“The Watchfire Ignite OPx software is so easy to use. The ability to tailor our content to attract weekday commuters or weekend visitors by highlighting different products and offerings depending on the day and time has made such a difference in our foot traffic,” explained Taylor. “It helps us share what’s happening inside while staying true to the warm, welcoming feel we want for our customers.”
